Chicago Ramblings XLI Edition

Well, here we are, 2 days before the Bears win SUPER BOWL XLI and 3 days before the city of Chicago becomes less productive than the employees of Dunder Miflin - Scranton Branch. I really don't have to much to say because the entire week has consisted of mass emails praising the bears and denouncing the colts - to put it nicely. As mentioned, me and my friends will be going to a bar on Clark Street in the hopes of being at one of many ground zeros should the Bears take the Horse Shoe off of the Colts helmet and insert it up their ... well this is a family blog but you get the idea. For those of you that don't know, I sent home a data DVD with all of my IPOD songs which should allow you to add them to your own IPODS without any problem. There are also all of the scans of the pictures I used for the other DVD should you have any desire to use them. In other non-superbowl news - I recently found out the hard that running a mile on the track is not the same as the treadmill. Also, no one told me that the Shamrock Shuffle was the country's only major 8K (5 miles) and not a regular 5K(3 miles). Things are going to get interesting on the training front. Sorry for the brief post but something is better than nothing (ahem Annie, Mom, Tim, Melissa, Katie).

Read: Rule #1 if you are trying to read a book a week - don't read one written in 400 year old prose or else you end up reading things like "But as for you ye vile and worthless rabble, I utterly despise ye! Come on, molest me as far as ye are able, for quickly shall you receive the reward of your folly and ignorance." Remarkable, yes, good reading on the el, no. Hence, for the sake of full disclosure - last week's book Don Quixote was put on the back burner. So I'll give you two for this week that have already been disposed of:

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. A really interesting and fast-read book. If you have ever wanted to read a book through the eyes of a 15 year old mentally disabled (but not retarded) kid who's trying to solve a mystery, then pick this bad boy up. Don't be intimidated by the 233 chapters - they are numbered in sequential prime numbers. Intrigued yet?

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. So far I'm trying to read old classics and new highly touted books. This just happens to be one of the classics I've never read before.

And for a bonus read...I invite you all to read the comments under the video I posted on YouTube. Apparently I am the shit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp3laY3KuVg

Watch: What Else - Super Bowl XLI. (sorry for the cop out but this is the only thing thats been on my mind lately)

Listen: Once again, the format of the Family Blog restricts me from recommending what I've been currently listening to (downloading for work out songs). So I'll give you one of the catchiest little ditties I've come across in awhile - sadly this lands mostly in the Annie-Katie demographic and seeing as they are blogophobic someone will have to share this with them.
