Chicago Bear Ramblings

Well, this post is coming a little earlier in the week than normal, but for reasons that will follow. For those of you not aware the beloved Chicago Bears are going to the superbowl in two weeks, and this has caused no shortage of histeria (or Devin Hesteria) in the greater Chicago land area. We are currently trying to find out where to watch the game because no one's house is big enough, and after the shennanigans that happened at the NFC championship game (read: drink spillage and uncontrolled jubilation) no one is really up for having the game at their place. And the Bars in chicago aren't exactly making it easy - for instance one bar that we go to has a $65 charge for a seat, yes that is what you pay to have the right to sit down inside the bar for the game. you also get free drinks for 3 hours before the game but its a cash bar during game time. Since any chair I pay $65 for I expect to take home with me - I don't see this as an option at this time.

Not only are the bears in the superbowl but they are playing the Colts - the beloved team of my roommate. We've decided not to wager on. the game because it could get ugly. Just to let you know how serious its getting around here Davis and Anthony (who some might remember from my law grad party - who is a staunch democrat and diehard bears fan) have decided to bet away their presidential voting rights in the 2008 election. Thats right - if the Bears win Davis will be voting for Clinton or Obama and I can't tell you how excited I am for that possibility. (note: the mere process of having either one vote for the opposite party is significant, however, no vote will matter in Chicago - the dems will win). As for everything else, same old same old - just registered for an 8k and paid the fee so Im stuck now. That's all for now:

Read: "Don Quixote" Miguel De Cervantes. Ever want to know where the term "quixotic" came from? Well do like me and pick up this 400 year old book and find out. So far so good but haven't had time to make a real dent yet.

Listen: My Chemical Romance: Welcome to the Black Parade. Awesome Rock album - title track is the best (see below) but the entire album is somewhat of a novella - meant to be listened to in order from start to end.

Watch: My Tribute to the Bears - featuring the lead song in My Chemical Romance. I kind of got hooked on the video editing thing after the christmas video. So check it out. (note: it might get deleted from youtube because of copyrighted images but we'll see so watch it ASAP and if it doesn't embed right below just click on the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp3laY3KuVg
